One of the pleasant surprises about the complete Windows PC package is that it comes with the Microsoft Movie Editor. When you purchase the windows package, you suddenly have home made video editing capacity. The software may have sat, unused on your computer, for years, but when that moving making bug bites you, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that you don’t have to lay out big bucks to begin editing videos and movies. Using a special digital detection method, the movie maker automatically slices raw video footage into small clips, wherever it detects an abrupt scene changes. The movie maker features a story line editing board, with clip holding boxes and transitional areas. When a user is ready to edit, he simply drags his video clips into one of the boxes. Special effects can then be added to one or more of the clips, and special transitions can be added to the space between the boxes.

Once a video has been downloaded and divided into clips, the next step is to enter individual clips into the boxes on the story line. Now you can add transitions between each clip. To add the transitions you must first click on the transitions tag. A drop down menu will open up displaying a list of transitions provided by Windows. Just click on a transition and view it on the movie maker monitor. When you find a transition you like, simply drag it to the transition area on the time line.

Some transitions are of the fade out and fade in type, and some transitions are made with sections of the new clip replacing the old clip in a geometrical pattern. Fade in and fade out transitions generally connote a passage of time or a change in place.Geometrical transitions are interesting in that they remind us that we are seeing life through the lens of a camera, though at times some people find them distracting.

Windows also presents transitions which represent varieties and combinations of the fade in fade out or geometric transitions. Some of the transitions present varieties in timing. Sometimes the old scene disappears before the new scene begins to appear, and sometimes the two briefly appear together, with one superimposed on the other. Likewise with the geometric transitions, sometimes the geometric shapes consists of parts of the new scene, whereas sometimes they consist of abstract colors or design, which are replaced by the new scene after the old scene dissapears.

Another type of transition removes the old scene in a symbolic or psychologically meaningful way. For example, in one transition the old scene peels away like a page of a book being turned. In another transition, the old scene lifts up, shrinks and recedes in the background. This might imply that the old scene is receding in memory, being filed away into the back of the mind.

The set up of the windows transition editor is made for the beginning video or movie editor and is easy and fun to use. The transitions which come with the software represent an important cross-section of the transitions that we are all used to seeing in Hollywood films.

Usually the first concern is children, followed by the thought of a thief taking them and doing harm to you, others you care about, or any random stranger they could come about later.

Gun safes are in high demand today as a result of these concerns. You can literally lock up your guns, ammo, and other supplies (such as black powder) in a fashion that makes them inaccessible to children, and those with harmful intent. Then you can rest better knowing that your weapons and family are safe while you are away from them.

The Stack On Gun Safe product line is available in all sizes with a number of choices for each. These externally fireproof, and internally fireproof insulated to protect your valued guns, ammo and effects from fire. But the most importantly they are very heavy. This will surely deter thieves from trying to open them, or carry them off.

As far as the storage space goes, you will no doubt appreciate the dimensions to store whatever weaponry you have to keep safe in them as well. Please note Stack On Gun Safes aren’t the lowest price out there, however you do get what you pay for. Do you really want the lowest protection? In reality though, when you shop around, you will indeed find the best value for your money and cheaper then many of comparable choices. You should be prepared to spend between $500 and a thousand for a good sized safe to store a reasonable sized gun collection. Of course if it’s all handguns, you may still want the weight to be sure they don’t carry it off to never be seen again, or worse yet; seen in an evidence locker.

Of course there are alternatives out there to these great storage solutions, and they may work as well. Finding the Stack On pistol Safes you need at the price you want is quite possible. Take your time and check out your options. Where you are now reading is a great place to continue looking.

There exist a number of Windows optimization tools that you can leverage to relieve some of your Windows woes. These Windows optimization tools can help you overcome any of the following problems, which are too overreaching in the world in this age:

- Windows takes forever to launch at start up or when logging in.
- Windows takes forever to power off, or it ignores your command to turn off.
- Internet Explorer takes too long to display web content, even if you’re on a high-speed Internet connection.
- You are being inundated by unwelcome pop-up ads, whether you are surfing the Internet or not.
- Your programs will lock up and the dreaded “hourglass” icon will haunt you for no sensible explanation, without previous warning.
- Your applications will crash and stop responding.
- Clicking the mouse and keyboard keystrokes both exhibit unaccepted levels of lag time.

Fortunately, these 5 Windows optimization tools can help resolve many of these problems:

- Antivirus software – Viruses can attack your system and become a serious handicap, rendering your system partially or totally unusable.
- Antispyware software – Spyware can harm your computer system by stealth means, usually social engineering, and could tax your computer with pop-ups and establishing connections to some “rogue server” on the Internet, thus consuming your bandwidth.
- Disk defragmentation utility – Optimizes your operatig system’s local disk such that all files are kept in one physical, contiguous block of disk space. This reduces up the amount of time requires to read from and write to your hard disk.
- Windows Registry repair utility – Optimizes the Windows registry database and corrects any errors it comes across. The Windows registry is the master database which hosts vital configuration settings about your OS. If any data corruption occurs with the database, it can adversely impact your computer system’s performance.
- Firewall software – A firewall is a computer program that runs discreetly on your computer system and safeguards it against unauthorized access to your machine by hackers via the Internet.

Each one of the aforementioned 4 Windows optimization tools can be used individually, yet for optimal results it just may be a great idea if you would implement all of them in cohesion. That way you can make sure that you are covering all bases. You don’t want to leave even a single stone unturned, as the old saying goes. Streamlining of the operating system involves performing a lot of tuning, just like you would conduct on a vehicle. And it is extremely important, and in your own best interest, that you would keep up with each of these maintenance items on a frequent basis. Just like an automobile, the operating system is subject to wear and tear due to extreme usage, just like an autombile. The more applications you run, the more disk space you use, the more things you download from the Internet online, the greater the impact these will have on your machine’s performance.

Once you execute these Windows optimization tools, you are practically assured of increasing your system’s responsiveness to being as good as new. So before you give up and declare that you must buy a new computer or upgrade your existing one, it might be a very good idea for you to try using these five basic Windows optimization tools to improve your machine’s performance all by yourself.

You might be very surprised with the results you achieve!

If you had some damage to your roof or siding last year and put it off, now is the time to start your research for a contractor.  Many specialize in storm damage repair and will come and look at your home for free to see if there was enough damage to file a claim with your insurance company.  If you live in a colder climate the contractors might not be able to get up on your roof right now due to snow, but they can definitely check out your siding.  While you wait out mother nature you can start deciding what colors you want.  This process can take awhile.  It is your home and the color of it is a huge decision, one you could be stuck with for 20 years.

Gutters are designed to protect your house from the elements.  With 1 inch of rain the average house can shed over 500 gallons of water.  Gutter can protect the siding, windows and soil around your house.  Not to mention, the protection they give you.  Ever walked on a sidewalk of a house that did not have the proper drainage system?  The sidewalks can get very slippery.  If you use an eco friendly gutter system you can run the water drainage into a barrel and then use that water for your yard and plants.  If you pay for water this can be a huge savings for you.
